Presenter: I now want to discuss the earthquake that constitutes today’s agenda and has so distressed everyone. There is a question about it. I want to get that in first. The earthquake that struck Haiti is the worst for the last 200 years. Some 500,000 people are estimated to have lost their lives. Aslı Yürekli from Sakarya asks what you think about the earthquake.
Adnan Oktar: I am not saddened because of the earthquake, because it is something that took place as a manifestation of destiny of Allah. And it was brought about for the best, with great wisdom. The dead are martyrs. Those who are burned, who die in earthquakes are generally martyrs. Allah gave them and Allah took away from them, for which reason there can be no sadness. In other words, nobody should be saddened because that means rebellion against Allah. Doesn’t it? It is Allah who takes back souls. We did not ask Allah when we came into this world, and He does not ask our permission (Allah is beyond that) when He takes it back, and it is wise and for the best. We have a great many Muslim brothers in Haiti. Haiti, as you know, is a country in which Islam is spreading fast, and is still spreading. Voodoo, a religion of magic, is still widespread, from what I see, but the important thing is that, they're all human in the end. They do not know Islam, the religion, out of ignorance. We must help those people. What should we do? What we must do is to help our brothers there to the best of our ability. Our Muslim brothers will go there, whether it be the "IHH" or "Deniz Feneri", or some other organization. The Red Crescent will go there and establish good relations with our brothers there and win them over and settle them down. It would be murder to encourage them to grieve or weep and cry. It would damage their health and mental well-being. That is very dangerous. We cannot tell them: “Mourn, weep, look, you have lost your mother and father, how can you not grieve? What kind of person are you not to be saddened? Throw yourself on the ground, faint, go into a coma and go to hospital to show us how much you loved them.” Love is not measured by these things. We wish good health to the survivors. May Allah give them long lives. We will therefore treat the people there with affection. They also need love, affection, compassion, and most of all, a deep belief.
They need a profound love of Allah. We will bring that about for them. We will provide material aid. Pharmaceutical help is needed, followed by prefabricated houses. Tents will be erected, I believe the Red Crescent will take out a large number of tents. I hope so. But they need to act quickly. I mean, there won’t be of much worth if they arrive later than 10 days. Because those people will be unbelievably worn down in 10 days. It is really hard out in the open air. It needs to be done at lightning speed. They need to decide this evening and be there tomorrow.

Adnan Oktar: Air is the first choice. There will be heavy transport planes. Ships are not appropriate, they will just prolong the matter. It needs to be done with fast transport aircraft. It is irrational to encourage that little child to keep crying like that. It is important to console the child, to put her at ease, because otherwise she may become mentally ill. You lose her in that way as well, in other words. You pull one person out of the ruins but ruin someone else's mindset at the same time. That is why sorrow should not be encouraged. We must look on things as auspicious. We must regard everything as for the best, everything as goodness on the right or left or all around us.

Adnan Oktar: “It is He Who has created hearing, sight and hearts for you. What little thanks you show” says Allah. Almighty Allah tells us not to lose hope when He tests us, for He does not find that pleasing. He says we give little thanks, and that if we give few thanks, He will take our blessings from us. He tells us to beseech and pray to Him. “Submit to Me,” He says and "bow your heads". He says they did not bow their heads to their Lord, He is who created you and sprang up. We do not remember what went before, of course. Allah brought us into the world suddenly. He says we will all turn to Him alone. This is very important. It means that nobody remains in this world. Everyone will leave it, either in an earthquake or in some other way. There is therefore no question of grieving because people have died in an earthquake, because you will die, too. You will also die of cancer, or from a stroke, or in a traffic accident, or from something else, and you will enter the presence of Allah. It means we will all depart. So that kind of behavior would be wrong, wouldn’t it? Believers must bow their heads to our Lord. People have died en masse, but Allah is under no obligation to take people’s souls one by one. He sometimes takes them en masse. Why are you not surprised when people die individually but surprised when they die en masse? Allah says that He makes us live and He kills us. Allah says that it is He who kills, not the earthquake. Allah says He does.
Adnan Oktar: Therefore, Allah tells us what to do in the event of death, what is to be done in such situations. Allah tells us to submit, to beg and plead, not to lose hope, to give deep thanks, to have a powerful belief in the Hereafter, to know that death is created by Him and all other glad tidings of Allah. Almighty Allah says that those who die in earthquakes are martyrs. How great, what more could one want if someone has departed as a martyr, for an exceedingly comfortable life, rather than remaining in this world?, insha’Allah. Therefore, may Allah have mercy on all the deceased, all those who departed this life, may those who come into the presence of Almighty Allah enjoy His beauty and mercy, and may He bestow fortitude, health, strength, joy and happiness on the survivors. We therefore do not want them to grieve. There is nothing to grieve about. It is very normal. In the same way that if someone dies in a traffic accident rather than in a disaster, and there is wisdom in that, or from cancer, or from ulcer, from brain hemorrhage.
Oktar Babuna: Millions of people fall sick and die every day.
Adnan Oktar: ... People die from bird flu, swine flu and everything. They also die for no reason. It is therefore wrong to portray death as a tragedy. Death is something natural, as natural as birth. It is a law of Allah. The believer will greet it with respect and regard it as something good, and we will be careful not to treat it as a disaster, not to be doomsayers insha’Allah.
